Wrestler John Cena stars in new Hefty spots by Havas Chicago

John Cena is not a great actor. I can safely say that since, well, he is nowhere around and I’m in the confines of my apartment!

That said, the wrestler-turned-TV-star-turned Hefty spokesman sure is likable.

And it’s his “Dwayne Johnson” likability that bodyslams any other spots this week and places these new Hefty trash bag spots, from Havas Chicago, into RAW.

Havas Chicago welcomes new GCD Karen Goodman

Former Under Amour creative, Karen Goodman, has joined Havas Chicago as Group Creative Director.

According to Agency Spy, she will lead the creative on the agency’s Hefty and Reynolds accounts while reporting directly to ECD, Paul Hirsch.

In a statement, Hirsch said, “The range of experience Karen brings to Havas is invaluable. We’re building a shop infused with heart and soul and culture. There’s so much opportunity to create and Karen has the chops to run with it.”

Office-less Havas Chicago Village officially launches

Havas Worldwide has officially opened its newly 81,000-sq. ft. office-less Havas Chicago Village, renovated at a cost of $18 million that incorporates all of its many services — media, creative, digital and others — on two floors at 36 E. Grand, a building the agency has occupied for 15 years.

Havas Chicago’s CCO Peterson to co-president

Jason Peterson, chief creative officer at Havas Worldwide Chicago and known for his considerable digital expertise, has been given the additional role of co-president.

He shares decision-making with Joy Schwartz, co-president since 2009, who coincidentally helped recruit Peterson to Havas three years ago.
