One Chicago releases sneak peek trailer for new season

One Chicago dropped a sneak peak trailer of what we can look forward to on the January 17 season premiere of Chicago Fire, P.D. and Med.

The shows are running four months behind their normal premiere dates due to the WGA and SAG strikes. All three shows are scurrying to complete new episodes before they break for the holidays.

It was exciting to see the new footage in the trailer from the premiere episodes of all three shows.

A haunting intro of I Won’t Back Down from PITCHhammer music sets the tone as a montage of fresh images from Chicago Fire, P.D. and Med fill the screen. The clear message in the trailer is, One Chicago is — BACK — TO — WORK.

The biggest reveal in the 30 second trailer was the return of Severide (Taylor Kinney) with an emotional commitment to Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) “I’m here. We’re in this together,” followed with a kiss.

This assures us that Severide is in the Chicago Fire premiere episode.

There was no reveal of Chicago Fire‘s Mouch (Christian Stolte) who was left in a life-or-death cliffhanger, or Chicago P.D.‘s Adam Rudzek (Patrick John Flueger) who was shot in the abdomen, racing to the ER in an ambulance.

CHANGES IN CAST THIS SEASON

A new doctor will be introduced in the premiere of Chicago Med and we will lose Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) in the Chicago Fire premiere. It is uncertain when, or how, Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) will be written out of Chicago Fire. And Chicago P.D.‘s Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) will be written out of the series as well. All three announced they were leaving the shows this season.

Here’s a look at the new trailer.
