Tracy Spiridakos, who plays the role of Detective Hailey Upton, will be departing Chicago P.D. after Season 11 according to multiple sources and originally reported by Variety.

Spiridakos initially joined the cast in Season 4 as a recurring character, eventually becoming a series regular in Season 5.

Spiridakos’ exit was her own decision and follows closely after Jesse Lee Soffer’s exit in the previous season. Soffer, who played Upton’s husband, Jay Halstead, chose to leave the series after a decade. In Season 10, his character left for an assignment in Bolivia and continued to extend his absence, ultimately deciding not to return.

It has not yet been disclosed whether Soffer will make a cameo before Spiridakos exits, as he previously stated to Variety last February that the door is not definitively closed.

Soffer remarked, “Never say never. I feel so bad for the fans that are like, ‘Is he going to come back?’ ‘What’s he going to do?’ ‘What’s going on with him and Hailey?’ I like to think — and I hope the fans think this too — that he’s just in another country right now, doing what he does best and making the world a safer place. In a family, sometimes somebody moves away or goes to college somewhere else. I still love it. I still love the fans. And I still love Halstead. Halstead’s always going to be in my blood. That’s never going to change.”

As Reel Chicago reported earlier, the One Chicago series has opened their production offices and crews are scheduled for November 1 to begin prepping the stages.

As of this writing, no agreements have been made in the SAG strike negotiations. The studios returned to the bargaining table with SAG today and they are set for another meeting on Wednesday.
