As Chicago P.D. prepares to begin filming Season 10 on Wednesday July 20, fans are wondering who’s in and who’s out this season.
You can expect all of our crime fighting heroes Trudy Platt (Amy Morton), Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), and Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) to return for Season 10.
Fans were sadden to see the loss of Anna Avalos (Carmela Zumbado) the informant with a troubled past, who was shot and killed in the Season 9 finale and will not be returning to Chicago P.D.. However, you won’t need to look far for Zumbado who has signed onto the cast of another popular Chicago based show, Power Book IV: Force.
It’s safe to assume that First Deputy Superintendent Samantha Miller (Nicole Ari Parker) will not be returning since we haven’t seen her since the Season 9 premiere episode. She has appeared in a total of 8 episodes but no official announcement has been made by NBCU about her status with the show. She was set to star in a new series, At That Age but it was announced today that NBC is not moving forward with its ensemble drama pilot. So it is possible she could return in future episodes of Chicago P.D..
Celeste Nichols (Amanda Payton) only appeared in 2 episodes as Hawkins’ love interest. Unfortunately it was a major turn off to her that he lied about being a cop and she totally ghosted him. We know that things don’t just happen without a reason in One Chicago dramas so we feel there HAS to be a reason why we were shown Hawkins calling and leaving messages on her answering machine in Season 9. It’s possible the character might return in Season 10.
Chicago P.D. is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment. Filmed at Cinespace Chicago Film Studio.
Filming on Season 10 begins on Tuesday July 19 and Chicago P.D. will return for the premiere episode of Season 10 on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 9 CST.
