Power Book IV: Force casts stars from Chicago P.D. and The Chi

Power Book IV: Force welcomes four new cast members to the immensely popular STARZ series.

You may recognize some familiar faces from the roles they played on two other popular Chicago series, Chicago P.D. and The Chi.

Variety recently broke the news that the newest cast members are Carmela Zumbado, Miriam A. Hyman, Manuel Eduardo Ramierz, and Adrienne Walker.

Carmela Zumbado
Fans of Chicago P.D. should recognize the familiar face of Zumbado who played Anna Avalos, a DEA informant in 7 episodes of the One Chicago drama last season. Zumbado is a first-generation American actress of Cuban and Colombian descent and is more widely known for her break out character in Netflix’s thriller You as Delilah Alves. 

Zumbado will play Mireya Garcia. Mireya is “smart, direct with a great sense of humor and is strong-willed, guarded, and not afraid to call you on your bad behavior. She’s also the younger sister of the most dangerous Mexican drug dealer in the city.”

Force shared the news on Instagram, and Zumbado was excited to share the news on her Instagram, as well as her affinity for Chicago deep dish pizza! She captioned her screen shot saying, “MASSIVE gratitude to an incredible creative team I’m honored to work with. Haven’t had enough Chicago deep dish so just had to stick around”

Miriam A. Hyman
Hyman, another recognizable face, is from the Chicago based show, The Chi. She appeared in 20 episodes playing Dre since 2020.

Hyman is all about bringing diverse, powerful characters to life on the screen and her presence in Power Book IV: Force will be a welcome addition to the cast. She is an award-winning actor and lyricist also known as Robyn Hood in the music industry. 

Hyman will play U.S. Attorney Stacy Marks from Chicago’s South Side who first worked as a public defender before earning her way into the U.S. Attorney’s Office. She’s an independent self-starter who is ready to make a name for herself.


Manuel Eduardo Ramirez

Ramirez is a Mexican American actor from California who has made a name for himself on TV shows like Queen of the South, Father Militant, and Things Eternal. His IMDb also teases that we can expect to see him on Netflix’s wildly popular series Cobra Kai. 

Ramirez will play Miguel Garcia who is a mean, violent, and domineering alpha male who has never been in a long-term relationship because he lives to make money, but will do anything to protect the ones he loves.


Adrienne Walker

Walker also has Chicago roots and upon completing her graduate degree in vocal performance at The Chicago Conservatory of Performing Arts, she began her professional acting career with a production of Porgy and Bess at Court Theatre in Chicago. 

While she has mostly a theater background, Walker has appeared on TV as Natalie Dumont on Law & Order: Organized Crime and as herself on several musical specials. She was nominated for a 2014 Joseph Jefferson Equity Award for Supporting Actress in a Musical for her performance in Allee Willis, Stephen Bray, and Brenda Russell musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s novel, The Color Purple The Musical at the Mercury Theatre in Chicago.

Walker will play Shanti “Showstopper” Page who is a prized ex-professional boxer that now runs her own gym. She is fearless and ambitious which could be a dangerous combination. 


Power Book IV: Force follows Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) who left New York behind and intends to take on Chicago, using his outsider status to break all the local rules and rewrite them on his quest to become the biggest drug dealer in the city.

The series also stars Isaac Keys, Lili Simmons, Gabrielle Ryan, Shane Harper, Kris D. Lofton, Anthony Fleming III, Lucien Cambric, and Tommy Flanagan.

End of Episode’s Chris Selak, Shana Stein and Bart Wenrich also executive produce. Brett Mahoney also serves as executive producer on Power Book II: Ghost and will serve as showrunner on the recently announced third season. Lionsgate Television produces the series for STARZ.
