There’s a kind of a hush all over town as the cast and crews of the Dick Wolf One Chicago franchise, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, and Lena Waithe’s The Chi have paused filming to celebrate the holiday season.
One Chicago and The Chi are filmed on location in Chicago and on soundstages at Cinespace.
After a quick break, the cast and crew of Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med will return on January 2 to continue filming what will be a short season. Every filming day is significant to catch up after the long break from the WGA and SAG strikes. The delay in the startup of filming has cut the amount of episodes this season to 13, from a full season of 22 episodes.

We’re seeing more of The Chi filming on location as they make up for lost time. They will attempt to complete Season 7 and all of Season 8. The cast and crew will be seen filming on location in downtown Chicago on January 3.
