OKRP is adding award-winning firepower to its creative leadership with the hires of Matt McNulty and Ben Pfutzenreuter as Group Creative Directors.

The team was most recently at Leo Burnett where among their many creative achievements was the win this year of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions festival for its work on Wingstop.

McNulty and Pfutzenreuter join OKRP to work on its Burger King account. The agency was awarded creative AOR in April. They bring proven big brand experience across many categories, including recently helping transform Wingstop into ‘ThighStop’ in the midst of a chicken wing shortage, generating buzz and sales for the fast food chain. They have also won all major industry creative awards for numerous clients across different categories.

“Ben and Matt are just like their work – smart, unapologetically hardworking and the perfect amount of old school meets new school,“ explained OKRP CEO Tom O’Keefe. “I just knew within the first five minutes of meeting them that they’d fit right into our agency and the BK team.”

The duo became partners at Leo Burnett two-and-half years ago but had worked together at Goodby Silverstein & Partners before that. In addition to Wingstop, they have created famous campaigns for Pepsi, Doritos, Progressive Insurance and Taco Bell among others.

“Though all our conversations both with Tom and the entire team, we saw OKRP as a place where we’ll do amazing creative that can really propel a client forward. Plus, joining an independent agency had massive appeal to us,” said Pfutzenreuter.

McNulty added that “Working on an account like Burger King is a great creative opportunity as they value great work but also have a need for the work to have impact. It is the ultimate challenger brand that has something to prove. That’s a real sweet spot for both of us.”

Matt McNulty began is advertising career in Milwaukee as an art director and designer after attending Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.
