Juan Woodbury joins FCB to transform branded content

(Longtime Burnett producer joins FCB)

FCB Chicago has announced that prolific producer Juan Woodbury has joined the agency as EVP, Director of Branded Content & Entertainment. In this newly created role, Woodbury will be responsible for founding a branded content & entertainment practice within FCB. While he will report directly to Chief Creative Officer Andrés Ordóñez, his hybrid role will extend across the entire agency – influencing creative, production and the business at large.

“This role will be transformational in terms of the type of work we can produce for our clients,” said Ordóñez. “Juan thinks about things differently than a traditional creative and has incredible experience understanding how content works across different platforms. By bringing this fresh thinking to the creative process – from ideation all the way through production – we are going to significantly elevate our creative end product.”

Woodbury will influence creative across branded entertainment, platform-specific content and experiential activations. Specifically, he will partner with business leads to identify client opportunities for longer-form, entertainment-based content, as well as creative opportunities that exist within all key platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, etc. In a departure from most branded content roles, he will also lead teams in the execution and production of their ideas on each platform and across all entertainment and experiential activations.

“My goal is to bring advertising and entertainment together,” said Woodbury. “It’s more than just setting up partnerships, it’s about joining forces between the agency and clients to create what the consumer really wants to see and to execute impactful work that is entirely different from anything that’s been done before. It’s a new way of communicating and sharing a brand’s message. I’m beyond excited for this opportunity at FCB and cannot wait to begin creating great content and experiences.”
