Chicago P.D. starts up and filmed on location last week

Chicago P.D. is up and running in their first week of filming for Season 8.

Cautiously following all Covid-19 guidelines, the Chicago P.D. masked crew began shooting last week at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios and on location over the weekend in a near south side Chicago neighborhood.

With the onset of Covid-19 in March, Chicago PD halted production before they were able to complete filming for Season 7.

We welcome back the cast and crew and officially welcome in Season 8 which is scheduled to premiere on November 11th.

The NBC series, which has been renewed for three additional seasons, will have a few cast changes this season.

Lisseth Chavez, who received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress: Television for her roll as Intelligence Unit recruit Vanessa Rojas has left Chicago PD. and it’s been reported that new cast members—as in more than one—will fill Rojas’s spot in the Intelligence squad room.

Also reported, Nicole Ari Parker of Empire fame is set to join the Dick Wolf drama as Deputy Superintendent Samatha Miller.
