Worlds are colliding! Fans of the original series The 4400 will be delighted to see Patrick John Flueger of Chicago P.D. return to the world of 4400, in the reimagined reboot of the 2004 USA series, which is now on the CW.

While fans enjoyed Flueger’s portrayal of Shawn Farrell in the original series, he will not be reprising that role. Instead he will appear in one episode in the role of Caleb, a charismatic figure from one of the 4400’s past.

True fans of the original series will also be excited to hear that Flueger’s isn’t the only person from the original series to be involved in the reboot. Scott Peters will direct episode 112, the episode in which Flueger will be appearing. Peters received two Emmy nominations for the original The 4400, one for writing and one for producing.

In the new reboot, 4400 over the entire last century at least 4,400 people who were overlooked, undervalued, or otherwise marginalized vanished without a trace off the face of the planet. One night, inexplicably, they were all returned in an instant, having not aged a day and with no memory of what happened to them. As the government races to understand the phenomenon, analyze the potential threat and contain the story, Jharrel (Joseph David-Jones), an empathetic social worker, and Keisha (Ireon Roach), a hardened community corrections officer, are among the civil servants called upon to deal with the uncanny refugees.

In addition to the original series The 4400, and currently Chicago P.D., Flueger’s television credits include Chicago Fire, Criminal Minds, Warehouse 13, Paradise, Law & Order: SVU, Scoundrels, Grounded for Life, Judging Amy, CSI: Miami, Boston Public and JAG.

Patrick John Flueger appeared in the role of Shawn Farrell in every episode of the original The 4400 series and then went on to cultivate a very successful TV career before landing the role of Adam Ruzek on Chicago P.D. in 2014. He has also appeared in several crossover episodes, mostly on Chicago Fire, but also on Chicago Med. He was first introduced in the series premiere and has remained a key member of the cast ever since.

When we last left Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), he was struggling to keep his faith in police work as a profession. Chicago P.D. is currently on Fall hiatus and will return for one episode on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Then it goes on a midseason break and will return on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

4400 airs on Monday nights at 9pm ET/PT on The CW and episodes of 4400 are available to stream on The CW App and CWTV.com. New episodes are available the day after broadcast.
