50 CENT

With the second season of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s wildly popular STARZ series Power Book IV: Force actively filming in Chicago, the rapper and production mogul announced in a series of posts on his Instagram that he is officially parting ways with STARZ.

His latest spinoff, Power Book IV: Force debuted on February 6th to record high views for STARZ. They tallied a record 3.3 million views across all their platforms. Back in March, Jackson was already sharing his dismay with the streamer and was under the impression the series would not be renewed for a second season. The show has since been renewed and is currently filming in Chicago.

The post shares his excitement, but he claims there are “no hard feelings”

In another post he shared that September 17, 2022 is the official day he is owning his own content.

Brett Mahoney also serves as executive producer on Power Book II: Ghost and will serve as showrunner on the third season which will be released in the near future. Last year, Power creator Courtney Kemp decided not to re-up her deal with Lionsgate and head to Netflix, however she will remain an executive producer and continue to be involved creatively in the Power franchise as it continues production. It is unknown where Jackson intends to take his content at this time, but due to Power’s unbridled success, as well as the success of the entire franchise, it’s safe to assume that the move will be huge.
