50 Cent threatens to move the Power universe away from its home on STARZ, after the business mogul recently blasted his frustrations on Instagram.

As we reported earlier on Reel Chicago, the newest spinoff, Power Book IV: Force debuted on February 6th to record high views for STARZ. They tallied a record 3.3 million views across all their platforms. But according to producer Curtis Jackson (50 Cent), that’s not enough for STARZ to renew them for a second season.

He goes on to mention how Hightown, another STARZ show, was renewed for a third season on March 1st, as Power Book IV: Force broke STARZ’s record for views.

There were a few follow up posts from the executive producer of Power Book IV: Force, where he says, “Hold my calls I’m traveling, getting the fvck away from STARZ.” Which then led star of the show, Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy Egan to respond with a brief, “Oh boy!”

The Power Book universe debuted back 2014 with Power, which even features the producer, 50 Cent as Kanan, a character that is based on 50 himself.

This could be a leveraging technique on 50’s part, due to his contract with STARZ technically ending in Fall, regardless, the show’s status seems to be intact, now we just have to wait and see if it will still be on STARZ or on one of the many streaming providers out there.

If he does take his Force and goes home, he should have a lot of suitors willing to take the show, renew it, and even offer him more for future shows and movies. Even though his contract isn’t up until Fall, 50 seems poised to have control over his domain at all costs. 50 Cent is using his own power book to force STARZ to make a decision.
