After building a reputation as one of NYC’s go-to sound talents in the commercial world, Brian Battersby heads to Harbor’s studio in Chicago this month.
Major brands Battersby has worked with include Pantene, Facebook Messenger, Nintendo, CITI, Olay, Oral B, Lancôme, Comcast, Pepsi, Siemens, American Airlines, Laura Mercier, Red Lobster and Garnier. Top agency collaborations have included PNY, SSNY, LB, BBH, Ogilvy, FKA, Digitas, and Grey.
“I’ve been trying to focus on the unique by creating and performing sounds myself rather than gravitating towards effects from libraries,” said Battersby, whose creative approach sees an emphasis on bespoke sound design. “In what I do, sound design is probably the most creative part of the work, and it’s ever evolving. It’s important to keep pushing the envelope and to never settle for something you’ve done before just because it worked in the past. Like all our work, every project is unique.”
Past special achievements for Battersby include a Best Sound Editing nomination at the LA Indie Short Fest for War Peace.
Prior to Harbor, Brian worked with Sonic Park Recording Studio and ACIEM Studios.
