The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will broadcast from Chicago

For the first time ever, Stephen Colbert is taking his show on the road!

Colbert revealed that THE LATE SHOW with Stephen Colbert, the top-rated show in late night, will air from Chicago’s historic Auditorium Theatre during the week of the Democratic National Convention, also being held in Chicago, from Monday, Aug. 19 to Thursday, Aug. 22. The show will broadcast live on CBS and will be streaming live and on-demand on Paramount+.

Colbert brings his signature satire and humor to Chicago with a special week featuring a diverse lineup of guests from politics, entertainment, and more. Accompanied by bandleader Louis Cato and THE LATE SHOW band, the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy-nominated show will broadcast from the Auditorium in downtown Chicago.

“I am very excited to broadcast from the beautiful Auditorium,” said Colbert. “I started my career in Chicago, let’s see if I can end it there.”

THE LATE SHOW has aired live during previous political conventions in 2016 and 2020. In its history, the show has broadcast live on CBS 46 times, but this will be the first time the show has gone on the road.

Produced by The Late Show, Inc. and CBS Studios, THE LATE SHOW is executive produced by Stephen Colbert, Tom Purcell, and Jon Stewart.
