The Bear is returning for Season 2

The Bear is expected back in town later this month to begin production on the second season.

Season 2 begins filming in Chicago on February 21, 2023. Filming is expected continue through April 14, 2023 to complete a total of 10 episodes.

The Bear follows a classically trained, world-class chef, Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) who takes over a small, yet popular Chicago sandwich shop, left to him by his brother Michael (Jon Bernthal) who died by suicide. Ayo Edebiri co-stars as Sidney and Lionel Boyce co-stars as Marcus.

Season 1 of the restaurant-based dramedy, created by co-showrunner Christopher Storer and co-showrunner Joanna Calo, became an instant hit featuring guest stars Oliver Platt (Chicago Med’s Dr. Daniel Charles) appearing in 2 episodes as Uncle Jimmy, Amy Morton (Chicago P.D.’s Trudy Platt) appearing in Episode 2 as the health inspector, and John Hughes’ muse for Chicago based 80’s films, Molly Ringwald appearing in Episode 3 as the Al-Anon counselor.

The first season of The Bear made a significant presence in the 2022 award season taking the following nominations and wins:

  • Golden Globe Awards — Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy — Jeremy Allen White — Won

FX has already confirmed that the second season will premiere this Summer.
