Everything’s coming up Rosie for WLS Channel 7’s live morning show “Windy City Live.”
Yes, in a little nod to the cross-town competition, “WCL” co-hosts Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini invited another newcomer to the Chicago talk show circuit, Rosie O?Donnell, to make a guest appearance on their show.
Sources told us O’Donnell was initially expected to appear on “WCL” sometime in early December, but late Thursday, word came that O’Donnell’s appearance on “WCL” will probably have to be pushed back to sometime early in the New Year.
It was a bit of struggle, however, to get O’Donnell even to consent to show up on “WCL” at some future date.
A while ago rumors had reached the “WCL” offices that O’Donnell had become a fan of the show. A hardcore New Yorker who has now bought a residence in Chicago, O’Donnell even told an audience at a taping of her show at Harpo Studios recently that she watches “WCL.”
But even so, the “WCL” producers had been unable to book O’Donnell because her schedulers said she simply was too busy. But “WCL” producers and hosts didn’t give up.
On Wednesday on air, Warner and Chiaverini formally invited O’Donnell and dispatched a “WCL” show intern to Harpo Studios to deliver a printed invitation. A short time afterwards, a tweet from O’Donnell brought good news to the “WCL” hosts and staff.
“Done. I am in. Just tell me when,” tweeted Rosie.
