Quantasy appoints Terrence Burrell as ECD

Quantasy, a Los Angeles-based creative shop known for pushing the boundaries of creativity, has announced the appointment of longtime Burrell Communications’ creative, Terrence Burrell (no relation) as its new Executive Creative Director.

Burrell, a seasoned creative professional with over 20 years of experience, is celebrated for his exceptional creativity and his dedication to nurturing emerging talents within the industry.

Terrence’s illustrious career encompasses diverse creative disciplines, making him a versatile force in the advertising and marketing world. As a renowned writer, strategic thinker, and creative problem solver, he has consistently delivered campaigns that strike an emotional chord while achieving tangible business objectives.

During his tenure as a copywriter and senior vice president ECD at Burrell Communications, Terrence played a pivotal role in delivering creative executions for brands like McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Verizon, and Toyota, among others. 

“I’m most excited about adding my experience and knowledge to the wealth of talent at Quantasy to create great work, tell great stories, and build a greater agency,” says Terrence. “I believe that culture and technology thrive when nurtured together, fostering growth, creativity, and fun for all.” 

His experience spans a wide range of mediums, from traditional platforms like television, radio, and out-of-home advertising to digital, social media, and engagement events.

Burrell’s prowess in concept development and content creation has been instrumental in driving brand recognition and ensuring that his clients remain prominent in the market.

Notably, Burrell’s deep understanding of Black culture has been pivotal in crafting campaigns that resonate with African American consumers while simultaneously appealing to the broader market. His contributions have played a significant role in helping brands maintain their status as household names.

Beyond his impactful work in the industry, Burrell has generously given back to the creative community. He has served as a juror for prestigious creative awards such as The ANAs, The One Show, The Radio Mercury Awards, and The Mobius Awards.

His commitment to fostering emerging talent is evident in his role as a Co-Tutor for the ONE Club’s Chicago chapter of the ONE School Portfolio program, where he guides the next generation of Black and multicultural creatives. Additionally, he extends his mentorship to advertising and marketing students at his alma mater, Bradley University, in Peoria, Illinois.

Outside of the creative sphere, Terrence’s interests are diverse. He is an avid Science and Sci-Fi enthusiast, reflecting his passion for the imaginative realms. He spends his free time reading, embarking on travel adventures with friends and family, engaging in DIY projects around his home, and gazing up at the stars.

With Burrell assuming the role of Executive Creative Director, Quantasy is poised to elevate its creative endeavors even further, embracing his wealth of experience, innovative thinking, and commitment to nurturing talent within the industry.

Some of Quantasy’s clients include Honda, Target, California State Lottery and Panda. According to a source, Terrence will commute back and forth between Chicago and Los Angeles.
