NBC is locking in its fall schedule, and Chicago Wednesdays are officially back. The network has announced premiere dates for its 2026 fall lineup, with the One Chicago franchise returning to its familiar Wednesday night block beginning October 7. The night will open with Chicago Med at 8 p.m., followed by Chicago Fire at 9 p.m. and Chicago P.D. at 10 p.m.
For Chicago viewers, that means NBC’s long-running Dick Wolf drama universe will once again anchor the network’s midweek primetime schedule, keeping the city front and center across three consecutive hours of broadcast television.
The fall rollout begins earlier in September with NBC’s sports coverage. Football Night in America returns Wednesday, September 9, leading into the NFL Kickoff Game between New England and Seattle. Sunday Night Football settles into its regular slot on September 13 with Dallas at the New York Giants.
NBC will also use September to launch several key entertainment titles. The new reality competition spinoff The Traitors: New Blood premieres Thursday, September 17, airing from 8 to 10 p.m. The Voice returns Monday, September 21, from 8 to 10 p.m., followed by the new drama Line of Fire at 10 p.m.
Line of Fire stars Peter Krause and Hope Davis and will close out NBC’s Monday lineup. Beginning November 2, the network’s Monday comedy block will return with St. Denis Medical at 8 p.m. and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins at 8:30 p.m., followed by The Voice and Line of Fire.
Tuesday nights will feature The Voice from 8 to 9 p.m., followed by America’s Got Talent from 9 to 11 p.m. on September 22. The following night, The Voice will air from 8 to 9 p.m., leading into America’s Got Talent season finale from 9 to 11 p.m.
NBC’s Thursday drama block returns October 8 with Law & Order: SVU at 9 p.m. and Law & Order at 10 p.m. The new Traitors spinoff will serve as the lead-in.
On Fridays, Dateline NBC returns September 25 from 9 to 11 p.m. NBC will later introduce the new comedy Newlyweds, starring Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, on Friday, October 23. The series will air at 8:30 p.m. after Happy’s Place, which returns at 8 p.m.
Two additional new scripted series, The Rockford Files and Sunset P.I., are being held for midseason, with launches planned for January and February.
