Marco’s Pizza declares National Pepperoni Pizza Day

In case you didn’t know, there’s a Pepperoni Pizza War heating up and Marco’s Pizza, the fifth largest delivery pizza company in the country, is leveraging 920 – national Pepperoni Pizza Day to ignite a 920 movement that celebrates pepperoni pizza every day.

The movement is a subtle nod to the popular 420 cannabis magic hour – and the fact that those who enjoy getting baked, also enjoy a good pizza.

Beginning (9/20/21) and running throughout October’s National Pizza Month, Marco’s customers will receive 20 percent off menu-price pizzas and pizza bowls with its signature Old World Pepperoni. The promotion applies to pizza’s ordered anytime after 9pm when consumers use the GETCRISPY920 code.

The promotion will be supported by an engaging social media campaign created in partnership with Chicago agency OKRP and social agency SOCIALDEVIENT.  The “Get Crispy” program plays to the allure of Pizza to late night partiers and the unique attributes of Marco’s “Old World Pepperoni that tastes richer and crispier than traditional forms of Pepperoni.

“We know late night munchies are very real for a lot of pizza lovers,” said Chris Tussing, Chief Marketing Officer at Marco’s Pizza. “With our mind-blowing Old World Pepperoni® and 920, they are able to satisfy their late night cravings and get crispy any day of the year.”

Marco’s Pizza offers several ways for late night snackers to enjoy its delicious, crispy Old World Pepperoni. The Pepperoni Magnifico pizza features signature Old World Pepperoni combined with classic pepperoni, romesan seasoning, savory sauce, and signature three cheeses. Or customers can choose Old World Pepperoni as a topping for Marco’s Build Your Own Pizza or Build Your Own Pizza Bowls.

“Old World Pepperoni is a smaller, round pepperoni baked in a natural casing, which causes the pepperoni to curl up and create its signature toasty-bowl shape,” says Chef Andy Dismore, Marco’s Senior Director of Culinary Innovation. “It likes to get really crispy and is both spicier and bolder than classic pepperoni, which makes it a most excellent companion to Marco’s mouth-watering pizza.”
