Macaulay Culkin finally gets his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Home Alone actor, Macaulay Culkin will be honored with the 2,765th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, December 1 at 11:30 a.m.

Culkin will receive his star in the category of Motion Pictures. Joining emcee, Steve Nissen as speakers will be Natasha Lyonne and his Home Alone mom, actress Catherine O’Hara.

“Macaulay Culkin has been a fixture in pop culture for numerous decades,” remarked Ana Martinez, the Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “With an extensive body of work, his movie Home Alone stands out as one of the most beloved holiday films worldwide. It’s particularly fitting that Catherine O’Hara, who portrayed Macaulay’s mother in the film, will be reuniting with her movie son and speaking at the ceremony!” Martinez added.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce oversees the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame on behalf of the City of Los Angeles and has organized the celebrated star ceremonies for many decades. Since 1960, millions of people from various corners of the world have visited this cultural landmark.

Macaulay Culkin embarked on his stage career at the age of four, making the first of several small film appearances in Rocket Gibraltar, where he played the grandson of Burt Lancaster. He gained attention in the John Hughes film Uncle Buck, portraying the inquisitive nephew of John Candy.

Culkin skyrocketed to international fame in another Hughes’ film, Home Alone. He became part of our pop culture, portraying Kevin McCallister, a resourceful child accidentally left behind when his family goes on vacation. Culkin received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance, and the sequel, Home Alone II: Lost in New York, was also a global success.

His diverse career includes acclaimed stage performances in Madame Melville and portraying the ill-fated Michael Alig in the cult classic film Party Monster. Culkin’s film credits encompass Jacob’s Ladder, My Girl, The Good Son, Richie Rich, and Saved! Additionally, he filmed the independent production Changeland in Thailand for director-writer Seth Green. His television roles include appearances on Kings, The Jim Gaffigan Show, and Robot Chicken. Culkin is also the founder of the new media empire Bunny Ears, featuring a podcast website, live events, as well as social and merchandising components.

His recent appearances include roles in American Horror Story: Installment 10 for FX and The Righteous Gemstones for HBO Max.

In his private life, Culkin has been in a relationship with fellow actor Brenda Song since 2017, having initially met on the set of the film Changeland. They celebrated the arrival of their first son, Dakota, in early 2021, and became engaged in January 2022.

Although the pair has kept details about their wedding under wraps, they have expanded their family further since the engagement, welcoming their second child, a son named Carson.

Culkin remains committed to giving back, prioritizing support for charities such as the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and Stand Up To Cancer.
