Jeremy Renner included the Chicago west side after-school program, The BASE Chicago in his new Disney+ series Rennervations.

Renner embraced his lifelong passion to give back to communities around the world by reimagining unique purpose-built vehicles to meet a community’s needs. In this four-part series he transforms large vehicles into community spaces for young people in India, Mexico, Chicago and Nevada. The purposes range from serving as a mobile music studio to a water filtration truck for a community in India.

The host and star Renner was joined by his co-host, business partner and friend Rory Millikin, in a red-carpet premiere and block party reception with executive producer Romilda De Luca, executive producer and showrunner Patrick Costello, and members of the build crew on the series, including Roxy Molohon and Rob “Bender” Park. Special guests included members of the charities featured in the series, including The Base Chicago, Big Brothers Big Sisters Northern Nevada and Casa Hogar.

Renner, who is best known for playing the superhero Hawkeye in the Marvel Avengers films, made a remarkable recovery when less than four months ago he was nearly killed in a snowplow accident. He walked the red-carpet to celebrate the new series, at times making use of a cane and a knee scooter.

The premiere event and block party reception included the mobile music bus that Renner and his team built in the series for The Base Chicago.

In the episode set in Chicago, Renner and best friend Millikin rebuild an old tour bus into a mobile music studio for The BASE Chicago, an organization that offers various after-school programs to help keep urban youths off the streets in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago.

Renner wanted to provide The BASE Chicago kids with a new musical outlet to encourage them to dream big, express themselves and discover their inner voice.

He and his team reimagined the bus into a mobile music studio with space for the kids to play instruments and record music. Actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens joined Renner to deliver the finished project to the community.

All four episodes of Rennervations are available to stream on Disney+.
