Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story

Chicago is about to become the backdrop for Hallmark’s next NFL holiday movie. Hallmark Media, the NFL, Skydance Sports and the Chicago Bears have announced Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story, the third film in the network’s successful NFL themed holiday movie franchise.

Filming is expected to begin around July 6 and continue for approximately three weeks in Chicago. The movie is slated to premiere during Hallmark Channel’s 2026 Countdown to Christmas programming event.

The production follows the success of Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story and Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, both of which featured extensive cooperation from their respective NFL teams and showcased local landmarks, stadiums and communities.

The announcement was made with Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson and rookie tight end Colston Loveland appearing in a promotional video teasing the project.

While story details remain under wraps, the Chicago Bears are expected to play a central role. Hallmark has not yet announced the film’s cast, director or specific filming locations.

“We’re honored to partner with Hallmark Media, Skydance Sports and the NFL on a project that celebrates the traditions of the holidays and the spirit of the Chicago Bears,” said Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren in the official announcement. “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our team, our fans and the incredible city of Chicago to Hallmark’s nationwide audience.”

Darren Abbott, Hallmark Media’s Chief Brand Officer, said Chicago’s passionate football culture made the Bears a natural choice for the latest installment in the franchise.

No casting announcements have been made, although Hallmark said the “talent draft,” revealing the film’s stars, will be announced at a later date.

The film is expected to premiere during Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas lineup later this year.
