The Chicago production community has one of its biggest annual gatherings this weekend as Filmscape Chicago returns to CineCity Studios on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, bringing together filmmakers, technicians, artists, students, vendors and industry leaders for two days of education, demonstrations and networking.
Presented as “More Than A Tradeshow,” Filmscape has become the Midwest’s premier free educational event for the film and television industry, connecting working professionals with the latest production technology and the people behind it. The nonprofit event is designed to keep Chicago’s production community current in an industry that continues to evolve at a rapid pace.
Held at CineCity Studios, 1414 S. Western Ave., the weekend features multiple classrooms and presentation spaces filled with discussions, hands on demonstrations and conversations covering cinematography, lighting, virtual production, post production, business development, music, career advancement and emerging technology. Industry veterans, local filmmakers and nationally recognized experts will share their experience throughout the weekend.
The expo floor will once again be packed with leading manufacturers, rental houses, technology companies and production service providers, giving attendees the opportunity to get hands on with the newest cameras, lenses, lighting systems, grip equipment and workflow solutions. Companies including Aputure and many of the industry’s top brands will be on site demonstrating the latest tools used on today’s productions.
