FX, the Disney-owned cable network, has officially greenlit a third season for its immensely popular comedy series, The Bear.

The critically acclaimed show, created by Christopher Storer, has captured the hearts of viewers with its unique behind-the-scenes narrative revolving around a restaurant and its dedicated staff. Fans can rejoice as the series is set to make its return in 2024.

FX’s entertainment president, Nick Grad, expressed his pride in the show’s creative team, led by Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the talented cast. “We’re so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen WhiteAyo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of The Bear,” Grad told The Hollywood Reporter.

The first season of The Bear earned an impressive 13 Emmy nominations, spanning various categories, including Outstanding Comedy Series and recognition for its stars, such as Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, and Jon Bernthal.

The series has also garnered accolades such as AFI TV Program of the Year, a WGA Award, PGA Award, Film Independent Spirit Award, American Cinema Editors Award, and ACE Eddie Award. Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in Shameless, has already claimed prestigious awards like the Golden Globe, SAG Award, and Critics Choice prize for his exceptional performance.

Season two, which streamed in June, has garnered critical acclaim with a remarkable 99 percent rating among critics and an impressive 92 percent approval from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. Among the remarkable episodes was the acting masterclass of episode 6 titled “Fishes.” It was an intense flashback of a Christmas dinner that featured Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Odenkirk, Oliver Platt, Jon Bernthal and White.

Christopher Storer is riding a wave of success, having lined up directing duties for the Paramount Pictures feature film adaptation of The Winter of Frankie Machine, based on the 2006 Don Winslow novel. Furthermore, under his overall deal with FX Productions, Storer is busy preparing for his next project for the cable network, All the Other Mothers Hate Me.

This upcoming show, based on the book by Sarah Harman, secured a deal with FX and bears the banner of Storer’s American Light & Fixture, following a highly competitive bidding war.

If the SAG-AFTRA strike ends in the near future, we don’t expect The Bear to be that delayed. Writers Room can open and scripts can be written. Fans can eagerly await the next delicious chapter in the world of The Bear in 2024.

Allen White can currently be seen in the indie film, Fingernails, Edebiri is the co-star of the comedy indie feature Bottoms and Moss-Bachrach can be seen on Netflix in the Jennifer Lawrence comedy, No Hard Feelings.
