In a groundbreaking development for Chicago’s local advertising landscape, Fox Television Stations (FTS) have announced a transformative partnership with Waymark, a leading AI video creation technology company. This collaboration will introduce Waymark’s cutting-edge Generative AI technology to the Windy City, promising to revolutionize how local businesses approach video advertising.
Traditionally, video advertising has been viewed as a costly and daunting endeavor for many local businesses. However, with Waymark’s AI-powered video platform, FTS aims to empower Chicago’s local advertising partners with instant and cost-effective video creative solutions. This groundbreaking technology allows local businesses to generate top-tier commercials, complete with professional voice-overs, in just five minutes or less.
Jason Sirek, Vice President and General Sales Manager for KMSP and WFTC, highlighted the significance of this innovation, stating, “Video advertising for many has been perceived as expensive and out of reach. Now, this innovative product gives our local sellers a tool they can add to their arsenal to generate new business in the OTT/CTV and linear space, while helping local businesses better visualize how they can utilize the power of video to tell their story.”
Waymark CEO Alex Persky-Stern also emphasized the far-reaching impact of this collaboration, stating, “We’re thrilled to roll out our Gen-AI video platform in Chicago through the FOX Television Stations. Waymark’s instant, fully customized commercials, combined with FOX’s distribution, will open the door to premium video advertising for countless local businesses who otherwise wouldn’t have had the budget, time, or know-how.”
Fox Television Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in nine of the top ten largest designated market areas (DMAs), and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 17 are affiliated with the Fox Network.
In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, the stations collectively produce over 1,100 hours of local news every week. Waymark has combined multiple generative AI models to create an end-to-end video creation platform. With their tool, anyone who can type basic instructions can produce ready-to-air commercials fit for TV, streaming, and digital. Its pact with FTS is the latest media company to sign on with Waymark this year, following deals with Spectrum Reach, Gray Television, Beasley Media Group and Morgan Murphy Media.
