Walking the showroom floor at Filmscape 2026, one thing became immediately clear. Chicago’s premier production technology and education event continues to grow, not only in size, but in the quality of its programming, exhibitors and industry engagement.
From packed educational sessions to busy exhibitor booths and conversations happening throughout the venue, there was a genuine sense of excitement. Attendees were engaged, asking questions, networking and taking advantage of the opportunity to learn from industry professionals.
Hosting the event at CineCity Studios once again proved to be an ideal fit. The expansive facility easily accommodated the growing show while providing attendees with an authentic production environment. CineCity’s virtual production wall served as a stunning backdrop for several educational sessions, displaying spectacular imagery that elevated the presentations and highlighted the capabilities of their state-of-the-art virtual production technology.
That energy was reflected in the event’s results.
Attendance matched last year’s record turnout, continuing the event’s impressive growth as the Midwest’s premier gathering for film, television and commercial production professionals.
Participation and enthusiasm have continued to build year after year, making this year’s event another significant milestone for the Chicago production community.
Filmscape 2026 featured 62 educational sessions and welcomed exhibitors and representation from more than 50 industry brands. One of the biggest additions this year was the launch of Filmscape Week, an expanded program featuring eight curated partner events held throughout Chicago leading up to the weekend exhibition.
The initiative was designed to extend the educational experience beyond the convention floor by offering additional free workshops, networking opportunities and resources throughout the city. Although it was the first year for the expanded format, organizers said the response exceeded expectations, with strong participation from both attendees and industry partners.
As Chicago’s production industry continues to evolve, Filmscape has evolved alongside it. What began as a trade show has become a gathering place where filmmakers, crew members, students, educators, rental houses, manufacturers and production companies come together to share knowledge, discover new technology and strengthen connections within the local industry.
Filmscape’s trajectory continues upward, reinforcing its place as Chicago’s signature annual event for the production community.
