Every year, Filmscape Chicago, an educational nonprofit focused on skill building for technicians and artists in the Chicago film and television industry, holds an annual event which hosts high-profile vendors, educational workshops, panels, and Q&As.

Last year’s event was held at Cinespace. This year the event, is going online!

“The exciting thing for us this year is that, because we’re online, we can expand beyond the midwest to basically anyone that has an internet connection,” said Ned McGregor, President of Filmscape Chicago. “We’re not just offering education that’s valuable in Chicago, it’s valuable to anyone who’s interested in this kind of thing.”

Similar to the way a traditional trade show works, each exhibitor gets a dedicated page on the Filmscape site, a virtual booth, where they can display new products, showcase well-known classics, talk about updates and upgrades, new programs, and get one on one virtual facetime with attendees.

Some vendors will have Zoom conferences going, with demos and Q&A’s available throughout the weekend.

Vendors expected this year include nationwide exhibitors like Arri Light and Camera, Litegear, and Quasar Science. Local brands include Barbizon Lighting Company, AbelCine, and Second City Sound.
