The Chicago International Film Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago, today announced this year’s Industry Days will be held virtually for a global audience, October 12-18, 2020.
Early Bird accreditation is now available for qualified participants to secure registration at the lowest price. Registration prices will increase to the regular rate on August 21. Film and media professionals interested in attending should apply for credentials here.
In addition to the seven-day conference, Industry Days Early Bird registrants will be invited to a pre-festival Master Class in Film Producing on August 26 with independent film maverick Ted Hope, former co-head of Amazon Studios and Good Machine, whose films have garnered 12 Oscar nominations.
“This year we’re very excited to be able to expand the reach of Industry Days by taking the conference online,” said Anthony Kaufman, Industry Days Senior Programmer. “ Although the entertainment industry has been hobbled by the pandemic, this is the perfect time to focus on artistic and professional development, which will be in no short supply during the conference. And our impressive lineup of guests will be Zooming in to offer guidance and expertise from all over the world.”
Industry Days is the Chicago International Film Festival’s hub for filmmakers and industry professionals to connect, share ideas, and find inspiration. This year’s Industry Days will offer all of its events virtually, including master classes with top filmmakers, workshops on production, financing, and career sustainability, and networking events.
In addition, we will host The Pitch, our annual competition for feature films in active development, and intimate Decision-Maker Roundtable meetings. For more information about The Pitch and to submit your project, VISIT HERE.
Whether serving fiction or documentary filmmakers, or those making work for TV or the web, Industry Days offers a focal point for media professionals to make connections and learn from major industry players. Past speakers have included Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen, award-winning producers Bob Teitel, Charles D. King, and Gigi Pritzker, and representatives from Amazon Studios, CAA, Cinetic Media, IFC Films, Magnolia Pictures, Neon, Oscilloscope Laboratories, Sony Pictures Classics, and more.
Applications for Industry Days accreditation are now being accepted at the Early Bird rate of $85 (regularly $100). Industry Accreditation grants access to all Industry Days events, panels, workshops, networking opportunities, DecisionMaker Roundtables (based on approval), and attendance at The Pitch. The accreditation price will increase to the regular rate on August 21, 2020. Industry Days Student accreditation is also available at the discounted rate of $50 for currently enrolled students only.
