MSC Cruises, the world’s third-largest cruise line, is making waves with its first-ever Super Bowl commercial, starring Hollywood icons Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom. This highly anticipated 60-second ad will highlight MSC World America, the company’s new flagship vessel, which begins sailing from Miami in April 2025.

As part of MSC Cruises’ North American expansion, the commercial, from Highdive, marks the launch of the brand’s inaugural U.S. advertising campaign. Barrymore and Bloom take viewers on a whimsical journey aboard MSC World America, blending the cruise line’s signature European elegance with all the comforts American travelers expect.

“I’m so proud to work with MSC Cruises,” said Barrymore, host of The Drew Barrymore Show. “They make it possible for people and families to see the world while creating beautiful, joyful memories that last a lifetime. Partnering with MSC Cruises for this meaningful endeavor is truly exciting!”

In the teaser for the campaign, Barrymore and Bloom charm audiences with their playful chemistry. Set in the exclusive MSC Yacht Club’s Top Sail Lounge, Bloom critiques Barrymore’s rendition of Holiday, the campaign’s musical signature. Their lighthearted banter embodies the ship’s mix of refinement and fun, making it clear why MSC World America offers a vacation like no other. Watch below:

“This is my first Super Bowl ad, and I’m honored to partner with such a prestigious brand,” Bloom said. “MSC World America perfectly blends European style with immersive and enriching experiences at sea. I’m thrilled to share this elegant new ship on America’s biggest stage and know it will wow travelers from both sides of the Atlantic.”

Produced by award-winning creative agency Highdive, the ad promises to showcase the unique features that set MSC Cruises apart. “The dynamic between Drew and Orlando reflects the essence of MSC World America,” noted Suzanne Salas, MSC Cruises USA’s EVP of Marketing, eCommerce & Sales. “Through their eyes, we’re giving America a glimpse of the extraordinary experiences awaiting them aboard this magnificent ship.”

MSC World America, the largest ship in the cruise line’s U.S. fleet, will debut from the new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal on April 9, 2025. Designed to offer distinct experiences for every type of traveler, the ship’s highlights include:

  • Seven unique districts tailored to different vacation styles.
  • 19 dining venues, including the only Eataly restaurant at sea.
  • 18 bars and lounges, featuring new venues like the All Stars Sports Bar and The Loft comedy club.
  • The Harbour, a family-friendly outdoor space with a ropes course, water park, playground, and more.
  • The World Promenade, boasting ocean views, dining, shopping, and one of the longest dry slides at sea.
  • The World Galleria, a lively three-level hub lined with bars, shops, and restaurants.
  • The largest MSC Yacht Club in the Caribbean, featuring enhanced suites, butler service, and private facilities.

Following its Miami launch, MSC World America will offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, all stopping at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve—a private island in The Bahamas featuring white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and new amenities debuting this year.

The commercial is set to air during the Big Game on February 9, 2025, introducing millions to MSC Cruises’ innovative offerings and setting the stage for an exciting future in North America, with cruises from Galveston, Texas starting later this year and Alaska itineraries launching in 2026.
