As promised, Reel Chicago will continue to update you on any casting news on One Chicago this season and this one is exciting!

Benjamin Levy Aguilar will return to Chicago P.D. as a series regular in Season 10. Deadline reports Aguilar is reprising the role of Dante Torres whom you might remember was introduced in Season 9, Episode 18 New Guard where he was a new recruit taken under Halstead’s (Jesse Lee Soffer) wing during an investigation.

The Guatemalan heartthrob was actually on the show in an earlier episode back in 2019. Aguilar was in Season 7, Episode 1 Doubt where he played a completely different character named Franco Chavaro. Franco’s gun was used in a murder and it looked like Voight (Jason Beghe) was the killer. By the end of the episode the real killer was revealed and Franco went back to his life and we didn’t think we would see Aguilar again.

Aguilar must have made a good impression because, breaking all casting rules, he was able to return to the series as a brand new character, a new recruit with a relatively shady past. When Halstead first met Torres, he wasn’t very chatty. As soon as the two went to their first call, he immediately disregarded Halstead’s instructions, but still managed to apprehend the suspect.

By the end of the episode, Torres revealed to Halstead that his step-father, whom the two encountered in the episode, physically abused his mom when he was young and Torres fought back when he was 14 and put the man in a wheelchair. Torres told Halstead that was the reason he wanted to become a cop. He called the police about his stepfather viciously assaulting his mom 6 times before taking matters into his own hands.

Aguilar is returning to the show after the success of the wildly popular Netflix series The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window. He appeared in 3 episodes as Rex Bakke aka “SexyRexx.”

This newest addition to the Chicago P.D. cast is a skilled martial artist trained in KravMaga and Israeli Military tactics, so it will be interesting to see if Aguilar’s talents will be showcased in upcoming episodes.

You can expect to see him in the season premiere on September 21. Check in here for future casting updates.

Chicago P.D. is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment. Filmed at Cinespace Chicago Film Studio.

Filming on Season 10 began on Tuesday July 19. Chicago P.D. will return for the premiere episode of Season 10 on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 9 CST.
