Chicago Med’s S. Epatha Merkerson to star in an episode of Poker Face

Chicago Med star S. Epatha Merkerson joins an already star studded cast of impeccable actors in Rian Johnson’s new murder mystery drama series Poker Face which will stream on Peacock TV. 

Deadline reported that she and Judith Light will guest star in one episode of the series. Merkerson who has played Sharon Goodwin on Chicago Med since 2015, has also appeared in 7 episodes of Chicago P.D., and six episodes of Chicago Fire.

In 2005 Merkerson won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her performance in Lackawanna Blues. 

Light and Merkerson are joining Natasha Lyonne, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Chloë Sevigny, Dascha Polanco, Lil Rel Howery, Adrien Brody, Stephanie Hsu, Benjamin Bratt, David Castañeda, Ellen Barkin, Jameela Jamil, Tim Meadows, Simon Helberg, and Benjamin Bratt who are all also confirmed for the series.

The 10-episode series has been described as a “case-of-the-week” drama and stars Russian Doll’s Natasha Lyonne, who also serves as executive producer via her and Maya Rudolph’s Animal Pictures banner, along with Rudolph and Danielle Renfrew Behrens as co-executive producers.

Rian Johnson, who directed Knives Out and The Last Jedi, will serve as creator, writer and director of the hour-long streaming show, which marks his first TV series.

Johnson and his producing partner Ram Bergman will executive produce through their T-Street banner, along with Nena Rodrigue, president of television for the company.
