Dr. Zola Ahmad joins Chicago Med

Chicago Med has had its share of cast shakeups this season with some of our favorite cast members leaving, and some new docs coming onboard.

After the departures of Guy Lockard, Brian Tee and Nick Gehlfuss last season we were expecting to see new faces introduced in Season 9.

In the season premiere, we met Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell), the new doc on the ER team, and this week Chicago Med introduces yet another new doctor to the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center family.

Sophia Ali, plays Dr. Zola Ahmad, a fresh-faced first-year ER resident whose enthusiasm for patient care occasionally shakes things up a bit. Driven by a profound passion for her craft and a strong dedication to helping people, she often acts impulsively, which can lead to conflicts in her pursuit of better healthcare.

You may recognize Sophia Ali.  She is best known for her work in the MTV romantic comedy series Faking It, and previously starred in the ABC hit drama Grey’s Anatomy as the intern at Grey Sloan Memorial who was fired. Looks like she has a history of stirring things up.

We will get our first look at Dr. Zola Ahmad on NBC One Chicago Wednesday, January 24.

Chicago Med is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment. Filmed at Cinespace Chicago Film Studio.
