Danny Strong is bringing
yet another show to the
Chicago production community.
The co-creator of “Empire”
has had his legal drama,
greenlit by Fox for the Fall.
Led by a fierce and fearless female lawyer with a hunger for justice, a wrongful conviction firm reopens investigations, putting the team’s own lives in danger to exonerate the innocent that were ‘proven’ guilty.
Her motivation comes from her infamous past — as a young adult she was found guilty and later exonerated in a high-profile case in which she became a tabloid sensation, household name and national celebrity.
While a hero and a victim to some, her bold and bullish tactics garner her some enemies — one of whom will do anything to see her go down for a crime we know she did not commit. We will watch her defend others as she fights to maintain her own innocence.
Former Grimm star Russell Hornsby is set as a male lead. Hornsby will play Ezekiel “Easy” Boudreau, a savvy, pragmatic and cool attorney who works at the firm. Hornsby also co-starred in the Denzel Washington-helmed Fences, next will be seen as the lead in Fox 2000’s The Hate U Give and co-starring opposite Regina King as a one-year series regular on drama Seven Seconds, which can be seen on Netflix.
The cast also includes Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight, Under the Dome), Nikki M. James, Vincent Kartheiser(Mad Men), Riley Smith and Clare O’Connor.
David Elliot is writer and executive producer on the series. Patricia Riggen directs, and Danny Strong and Stacy Greenberg executive produce. The one-hour drama is produced by Danny Strong Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television.
