The 76th Creative Arts Emmy Awards delivered a big night for scripted programming, with Shōgun and The Bear standing out as major winners.
FX’s The Bear, the restaurant dramedy that has captivated audiences, won seven Emmys. Standout victories included Jamie Lee Curtis winning Guest Actress in a Comedy and Jon Bernthal taking home Guest Actor in a Comedy. Other wins came in casting, sound mixing, and picture editing, showcasing the show’s combination of compelling performances and expert technical craftsmanship.
Meanwhile, Shōgun, the FX drama based on James Clavell’s epic novel, took home 14 awards, dominating categories like casting, costume design, and visual effects. It also earned Nestor Carbonell an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. The sweeping tale set in 17th-century Japan was a major success across technical achievements, from sound mixing to production design.
Ripley and Only Murders in the Building also made notable showings, with three Emmys each. Ripley took honors in cinematography and visual effects, while Only Murders triumphed in production design and music categories.
The weekend’s ceremonies, split across two nights at the Peacock Theater in LA, also featured awards for Baby Reindeer, The Crown, How I Met Your Father, and The Morning Show, among others.
