JOE SWANBERG, the 24-year-old filmmaker who has had two SXSW feature premieres in two years, debuts his new online series “Young American Bodies” this month on Nerve.com’s new video site www.nervevideo.com.
Like Swanberg’s features, “Young American Bodies” is a warts-and-all portrait of young adult sexuality. A new five-minute episode plays each week, then Swanberg plans to compile the series onto a DVD.
Heretic Films of San Francisco (“24 Hours on Craigslist”) is due to release Swanberg’s first feature, “Kissing on the Mouth” on DVD this August, with a parallel video-on-demand rollout.
Swanberg’s second feature “LOL” followed its March SXSW launch with screenings at the Philadelphia Film Festival, Rhode Island School of Design, Independent Film Festival of Boston, and Maryland Film Festival. In June it plays Harvard Film Archive and the Pronvincetown Film Festival.
