Wisconsin towns reaping large$$e from mega-budget Johnny Depp starrer “Public Enemies”

THE FILMING OF “PUBLIC ENEMIES” in Wisconsin last week brought Oshkosh an estimated $4 million, a figure based on the that each overnight visitor spent $172 per day and each day visitor spent about $50 locally.

The $300 million-budget Universal movie also filmed in Wisconsin towns of Columbus, Darlington and near Manitowish Waters, where the 1930s Little Bohemia motel, John Dillinger’s hideout, still exists.

“Public Enemies” comes to Chicago May 9 for five to six weeks.
