With Hollywood descending upon Chicago this week for The Democratic National Convention, questions have been circulating as to whether superstar Taylor Swift will make it to what has been dubbed, “Dempalooza.”
Swift is wrapping up her five-night run in London for her “Eras Tour,” so speculation has grown about whether she might attend the Democratic National Convention in Chicago later this week. Although Swift has not made an official presidential endorsement for the 2024 election, her fans, the Swifties, have been closely following her every move.
Recently, a fan theory suggesting that Swift had endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris gained traction after a silhouette resembling Harris was spotted on stage during one of Swift’s performances. However, CNN debunked this theory, clarifying that the silhouette was one of Swift’s background singers.
Swift’s presence will still be felt at the convention, even if she doesn’t attend. “DemPalooza,” will be a series of public events and training sessions, where attendees can make friendship bracelets—an activity inspired by Swift’s concerts and the lyrics to her song You’re on Your Own, Kid.
Additionally, a group called Swifties for Kamala, formed after President Biden endorsed Harris in July, has been actively supporting the Harris campaign. The Harris campaign has reached out to this group to offer help with their initiative.
The DNC begins Monday, August 19.
