Whitehouse Post to receive top CIFF Television Award

Whitehouse Post on April 22 will receive the prestigious  Commitment to Excellence Award for Television Commercials from the 5lst Chicago International Film Festival Television Awards (CIFF-TVA), formerly known as the Hugo Awards.

Matthew Wood, Chicago partner/editor, will accept the award at the ceremony at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile hotel. The event starts at 5:30 p.m.

“For 20 years, Whitehouse Post has been an integral part of Chicago’s creative community. Their exceptional work in advertising post-production has helped make Chicago a world-class destination for original, talented storytellers,” says Michael Kutza, CIFF founder/artistic director.

The Chicago branch has nine editors on staff; its total staff is 41.  It serves as the operational hub for all four Whitehouse offices, and its sister companies, Cap Gun Collective, Carbon VFX, and Gentleman Scholar.  It has been a long-time tenant of the 54 W. Hubbard St. building, where it occupies the entire fifth floor, shared with The Mill.

Out of six companies receiving awards, Whitehouse Post is one of three in television advertising. This year, a Chicago advertising person will be named the 2014 Chicago Legend.  The first in 2010 was industry chronicler Ruth L Ratny; news anchor Walter Jacobson was the second honoree in 2012.

Tickets starting at $75 are available at chicagofilmfestival.com.  They include the 5:30-7 p.m. reception and the 7-9 p.m. awards ceremony.
