We’re back in business! Governor finally signed tax incentives bill into law

With a mob of people, including Harold Ramis and other filmmakers at his side for the cameras, Gov. Blagojevich on Tuesday signed into law the Illinois Filmmakers Tax Credit Bill.

The signing occurs two months after the bill was sent to the governor signing, following Senate approval, and nearly three weeks before the bill would have automatically become law.

John Bosher of Beverly Ridge Productions, producers of the $3 million indie, “Chicago Overcoat,” and actor Frank Vincent will be part of the signing ceremony at the Italian Village restaurant, where a scene from “Chicago Overcoat” was filmed.

Publicly signing the bill apart from other legislation and with movie people gives Blagojevich some much needed positive PR and assures wider media attention.
