Veteran L.A. producer, innovator Lars Ullberg to offer new goals and perspectives as IPA president

The recent election of Illinois Production Alliance (IPA) officers infused the six-year old umbrella organization with fresh new faces, ideas and energy needed for IPA’s renewed community leadership.

Leading the transformation is board president Lars Ullberg, a relatively new name to the community, who brings to IPA a far-reaching perspective honed through two decades of coast-to-coast production and new media experience.

Also newly elected were Jeff Crabtree, political director, Teamsters Joint Council 25, and actress Grace McPhillips, as first vice president and secretary, respectively.

Reelected were former board president Eileen Willenborg, SAG/AFTRA executive director, as first vice president, and Sally Fletcher, Fletcher Chicago, treasurer.

Ullberg, who is executive producer/ director of UIC’s Center for the Advancement of Long Distance Learning, said he has “a long laundry list of objectives” for IPA to accomplish at a time when Chicago’s visual media business could use an overhaul.
