Two indie films air locally this weekend

CH. 11 PREMIERES two other excellent Chicago-made shows two days apart — Dec. 17 for the doc, “Raising the Barre: The Homer Bryant Story,” and Dec. 19 for Mike Houlihan’s indie feature, “Tapioca” on Dec. 19.

The 30-minute doc is about ballet master Bryant, an assistant artistic director for Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, a former principal dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, who built and has operated the Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center for nearly 20 years.

Executive producer is Melissa Sage Fadim; director is Terry Spencer Hesser, Emmy-winning producer and award-winning screenwriter. It airs at 10 p.m.
