Twisted Media reups with TNT’s “Leverage”

Although “Leverage” isn’t filming in Chicago, local visual effects designer Derek Frederickson of Twisted Media will continue to provide all the graphic animation for the next 15 episodes of the TNT crime drama.

When the pilot filmed in Chicago in 2007, Twisted Media was tapped by show producer Dean Devlin of Electric Entertainment to design and program all the electronic devices integral to the plot.

The series, starring Oscar winner Timothy Hutton, follows a team of thieves, hackers and grifters who act as modern-day Robin Hoods, taking revenge against those who use power and wealth, especially corrupt corporation, to victimize others.

Some of numerous deliverables Twisted Media created for the series included the design and interactive programming of computer, iPhone, Smartphone, PDA and mini-computer screens; multiple monitor setups (Security Center 8-monitor setup with 48 mock video feeds), on-set projection for blowups of computer screen, used as set piece, and postproduction compositing of elements.
