A funny thing happened to Bert Haas on the way to Zanies ?
The club chain’s executive VP decided that it was time for local comics to stand up and flex their comedy chops to a television audience. Which led to a pilot, “The Funny Sundae Show,” being taped May 24 before a live audience at Zanies Comedy Club on Wells St.
“We’re focusing on short form comedy,” notes Haas, a comedy master, if ever there was. He has worked for Zanies, booking talent and running the four Zanies clubs, practically since the first Zanies club opened on Wells St. 30 years ago.
