After 18 months on the festival circuit, Brian Jun’s debut feature, “Steel City,” goes out this summer under the Truly Indie banner, the year-old venture from 2929 Entertainment, which owns Landmark Theatres and Magnolia Pictures.
Under Truly Indie, a film plays on Landmark screens in markets where the chain has a presence, or independent theatres in other markets.
Filmmakers split print and advertising costs and profits with the company.
New Films International is selling foreign rights, and Jun is in talks with Magnolia for a DVD release.
