Toronto’s Zig agency buys Hadrian’s Wall; Lynch and Carli continue to lead the Chicago office

Hadrian’s Wall has come down in the best way possible. Hot Toronto creative agency Zig purchased majority interest in the feisty, five year-old Chicago boutique, effective Nov. 20.

Hadrian’s Wall founders Kevin Lynch and Steve Carli remain as principals and Carli is also managing director of the Chicago office.

Zig’s philosophy is “ideas in their most powerful form,” and bills itself as “the small agency working for big brands. Indeed, it’s A-list client roster includes Ikea, Molson, Best Buy Canada, Unilever and Virgin Mobile Canada.

Zig president Andy Macaulay said the agency chose to expand into Chicago rather than the advertising hotbed of New York after concluding a start-up would have consumed too much of management’s time and energy.
