Top LA talent speak at DePaul’s free conference

Ten A-list film executives from LA will appear on panels discussing all things screenwriting at DePaul’s School of Cinematic Arts’ 2nd annual Courier 12 Screenwriting Conference, Saturday, May 21, 1:00-7:30 p.m. free and open to all.

1:00-1:45 p.m. DePaul students will pitch their projects to panelists Dina Hiller, former VP/ Comedy Development at Paramount Television (Community) Adam Peck, owner/president of Synchronicity Management, screenwriter Steve Pink (High Fidelity); Moderator is DePaul faculty member Chris Parrish.

2:15-3 p.m. Script Magazine’s panel on issues facing writers today will be led by the magazine’s editor Jeanne Bowerman, with screenwriters Doug Richardson Screenwriter (Bad Boys), Tawnya Bhattacharya (Perception) and Rebecca Norris Resnick (Cloudy with a Chance of Sunshine).

3:30-4:30 p.m. Howard Rodman, Writer’s Guild of America president discusses the issues facing writers today with Brad Riddell, DePaul screenwriting professor.

5:00-6:00 p.m. Oscar winning screenwriter Tom Schulman (Dead Poets Society, What About Bob?) talks about his writing process with DePaul screenwriting professor, Matt Quinn.

6:30-7:30 p.m. Oscar-nominated writer Meg LaFauve, talks with DePaul Professor, Jessica King, about writing for Pixar, Marvel and the challenges facing female writers.
