Hollywood editor Michael Matzdorff returns to his native Wisconsin to direct his first feature, “Feed the Fish,” on his family’s Door County farm this February.
“Feed the Fish” is shooting from Feb. 7 to March 8 in Door County and Green Bay, with one to two additional days in Los Angeles, where post-production will be done, with a planned completion date of Sept. 1.
Matzdorff’s fellow Green Bay native and executive producer Tony Shalhoub (“Monk”), who plays an obsessive sheriff, leads an ensemble cast that includes Seymour Cassel (“Rushmore”) as an “inspirational mentor” to the lead, Kathryn Aselton (“The Puffy Chair”) and Darren Burrows (“Forty Shades of Blue”).
The movie also features Tony Shalhoub’s brother Michael Shalhoub, Vanessa Branch, Michael Chernus, Dawn Heusser, and Ann Shrake.
Matzdorff said he’s still in talks with an actor for the lead role, a children’s book writer who confronts his midlife crisis by running off to the Polar Bear Plunge, encountering a wild cast of characters along the way.
