Tis the season! The long-awaited return of the McRib is finally here.
Starting December 3, the fan-favorite saucy sandwich will be available at participating McDonald’s locations for a limited time, offering customers the perfect way to indulge their holiday cravings. This year, the festive season is taking on a new flavor—McRib SZN.
For the first time, McDonald’s is giving McRib enthusiasts an opportunity to enjoy its iconic sauce in a bold new way. The brand is introducing A Whole Lotta McRib Sauce, a half-gallon jug of its signature barbecue sauce. Designed for holiday gatherings, creative recipes, or as a unique stocking stuffer, this limited-edition offering is sure to delight fans.
According to Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s, the McRib has transcended its role as a mere sandwich. “It isn’t just a sandwich—it’s a cultural phenomenon, a legend, and an event,” Hassan stated. “McRib SZN has become a holiday in its own right, and this year, McDonald’s wanted to celebrate in a bigger way by offering A Whole Lotta McRib Sauce.”
The exclusive sauce jug will be available, starting November 25 at 9 a.m. CT, exclusively at wholelottamcribsauce.com. With limited supplies, fans are encouraged to act quickly. For those unable to secure the sauce, the sandwich itself will still be available for purchase in restaurants, through the McDonald’s App, and via the Drive Thru starting December 3.
McDonald’s is offering fans even more reasons to embrace the SZN. The brand has announced the upcoming release of a holiday-inspired anthem, “It Could Only Mean One Thing,” a festive jingle celebrating the return of the beloved sandwich. The song will soon be available on all major streaming platforms.
Additionally, McDonald’s plans to integrate McRib SZN into various channels, including social media, entertainment, and retail, ensuring fans can engage with the celebration in multiple ways. With so many festive surprises in store, McRib SZN is shaping up to be the most flavorful time of the year.
