The Chi

Payback is going to be a mother, or so claims The Chi’s new poster, just released by Showtime. The network has released the official trailer and key art for the highly anticipated seventh season of the hit series, which is set to premiere Friday, May 16 for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan. The season will debut on-air Sunday, May 18 at 9 PM ET/PT.

Created by Emmy winner Lena Waithe, The Chi is a powerful coming-of-age drama centered on a group of South Side Chicago residents whose lives intersect in unexpected ways. The series is produced entirely in its namesake city by 20th Television.

Following a record-breaking sixth season that delivered the show’s highest streaming numbers to date—up nearly 25% from the prior season—The Chi continues its momentum in season seven. With Alicia now in power, the women of The Chi rise to reclaim agency over their lives, but as rivalries intensify and allegiances are tested, it becomes clear: there’s only one crown—and it comes with a steep price.
