The Chi adds new cast members in Season 6 Part 2

Kadeem Hardison, Bret Gray, Leon, Daniel J. Watts

The Chi will return for Part 2 of Season 6 on May 10 with four additional cast members in recurring guest star roles.

The hit series now on a break in the middle of Season 6 is created by and executive produced by Chicago’s own Lena Waithe through her production company, Hillman Grad, and with executive production by Common, also from Chicago. The Chi unfolds as a poignant narrative of coming-of-age. It centers around a group of neighbors on Chicago’s South Side, whose lives intertwine through chance encounters but are ultimately united by the profound yearning for companionship and personal redemption.

The newest cast members are Kadeem Hardison, who portrays Professor Gardner, a literature professor at the college; Bret Gray who plays Damien, a sharp-witted guy whose will have a deep influence on Emmett’s (Jacob Latimore); Leon, who takes on the role of Alonzo, a charismatic and street-smart attorney with deep connections to Alicia (guest star Lynn Whitfield); and Daniel J. Watts playing Pastor Ezekiel, the charismatic pastor of a megachurch.

In the first eight episodes of season 6, Emmett (Jacob Latimore) and Kiesha’s (Birgundi Baker) blissful blended union is tested by his perilous partnership with Douda, (Curtiss Cook), who is dealing with the fallout of Q’s murder and its effect on the shifting loyalty of his inner circle. Victor’s (Luke James) tangled past impacts his new role as a city councilman.

Newlyweds Jada (Yolonda Ross) and Darnell (Rolando Boyce) fear for their son Emmett after he makes a desperate, life-threatening move. Rob (Iman Shumpert) and Tiff’s (Hannaha Hall) cannabis business and Jake’s (Michael V. Epps) apparel line took off, and Papa (Shamon Brown Jr.) falls for an older woman while questioning his faith at the senseless loss of his beloved father.

Kevin (Alex R Hibbert) landed a big gaming opportunity in Los Angeles, leaving Maisha (Genesis Denise Hale) to fight for her own big career move despite manager Jemma’s (Judae’a Brown) newly divided attention. But danger lies in wait…no one is safe and everyone will be tested as never before throughout the sixth season’s shocking last eight episodes.
